ABOUT US

The DUI Institute is a non-profit organization that provides Education, Resources, and Counseling to the local community. We combine prevention and intervention efforts to passionately reduce deaths, injuries, and arrests related to the operation of motor vehicles while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

OUR MISSION

To provide education and awareness to individuals and families about the impact, and underlying issues associated with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

OUR STORY

DUI Institute was born through an individual who saw a need to identify and address issues associated with making the choice to operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Development of the programs and services became a collaborative effort of various stakeholders within the behavioral health industry, and local community.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Lilliam rodriguez

Lilliam Rodriguez PH.D

Board Member

Dr. Rodriguez received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, and master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Carlos Albizu University.

Consistently working with a diverse population of individuals and families, her wide range of experience includes helping clients struggling with substance abuse, family dysfunction, co-occurring disorders, and trauma.

Additionally, Dr. Rodríguez has taught undergraduate courses as adjunct faculty and conducted psychological evaluations in private practice. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

Rene

Rene' Fernandez, Businessman

Board Member

Mr. Fernandez is a local entrepreneur businessman. He has owned and operated businesses in the Automobile, Real Estate, and Retail industries. In December 2013, Rene’ founded First Class Cuts a premiere barbershop in suburban Lake Worth. First Class Cuts has earned a reputation with its customers by treating them “first class”.

Rene’ is also an active member of the Palm Beach County Golf community where he has participated in numerous tournaments and charity events. Rene’ has made a personal commitment to dedicate a portion of his time and resources to assist individuals struggling with the disease of alcoholism.

Douglas-Parker

Douglas Parker Jr., BA

Board Member

Douglas Parker Jr, a Delray Beach native, formed the vision of Delray Beach Sports Exhibitors, Inc a 501©(3) registered organization that offers scholarships, summer sports camps, weekly mentoring, and sports training programs. The mission of DBSE is “To teach youth how education and sports together can make them productive members of their community.”

Douglas is a Florida Atlantic University Alumni, where he studied Sociology and served as the inaugural season running back in 2001. Mr. Parker has a passion for working within the community where he grew up. For the last three years, DBSE has established a foothold in the community and hosted highly anticipated annual events.

Tiffany Tait

Tiffany Tait, LCSW, CDWF

Board Member

Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and Masters of Social Work Degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Tiffany is a Certified Daring Way facilitator and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) here in the state of Florida. Tiffany has been working in the mental health and social services field for over 12 years as a Clinical Supervisor, Program Administrator and Behavioral Healthcare Executive.

Her multiple roles have led her to be well versed in treating clients of diverse populations and backgrounds including the veteran population, adolescents, chemical dependency clients and those suffering from co-occurring disorders. She is especially recognized for her experience in clinical program development, leadership development, and organizational restructuring..

Melvin Clark

Melvin E. Clark III, CRRA, CNDAI

Board Member

Melvin Clark III is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Liberation House LLC; a transitional living program designed to provide a multidisciplinary approach for recovering men. Melvin’s passion for social entrepreneurship was instilled at a young age by his father and grandfather.

They taught Melvin to live by the mantra “do well by doing good.” Prior to working in the recovery field, Melvin established a successful career in marketing and business development while working in the mortgage, insurance and rail construction fields.

Melvin currently serves as Managing Member of Soberlink LLC., marketing and consulting company in South Florida. Melvin is a Certified Recovery Residence Administrator as well as Certified National Drug and Alcohol Interventionist. He is an active member of the Florida Association of Recovery Residences and sits on the board for South County Recovery Residence Association.
